What Is a Venture Investment Club?

According to the National Association of Investors Corporation (NAIC), "Investment clubs, groups of 12 to 20 people who come together for fun, education, and profit, started about 1900."    These clubs have traditionally invested in publicly traded stocks.

With the growth of the Internet and improved communications, online investment clubs have started up as well.  A few companies such as FairShares4U and its partners have started to explore ways to increase access to private companies that are on the verge of going public.  See the articles at the end of this series of links, or go here.

FairShares4U is currently unique in advocating the combination of investment clubs and venture investing.  We see this as another opportunity made possible by the Internet for self-directed investors to participate in deals that have better upside potential.
